OCC Pond Nail Lacquer
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Pond Nail Lacquer is described as a “true royal blue” with a satin finish. It’s a bold, royal blue cream; very rich and decadent. China Glaze Manhunt is darker and slightly jelly-like. Zoya Song is a bit darker, and it has a lot of shimmer. MAC Breezy Blue is purpler. Illamasqua Force is similar in color but not quite as bright. Deborah Lipmann I Know What Boys Like is darker. Essie Declare Your Denimis bluer, not as bright.
This is an incredibly pigment-rich formula; nearly one coat is fully opaque, but I felt like the texture looked best (dense, plush, and lightly shiny) with two coats, so I’d still recommend two coats. For reference, I left my pinky fingernail with only one coat of product, so you can see the opacity. The consistency isn’t too thick or too thin, but it is on the thicker side. It flowed well over the nail, and I didn’t have any problems with the polish streaking or pooling along the edges. I typically get a week of wear with minor tip wear but no chipping with OCC’s formula.
THE GLOSSOVER
For those who've been on a long hunt for a royal blue cream that's fully pigmented, I think your hunt might be over!
